Start with the application
Describe what the tape must bond, join, seal or hold, including the substrate and how the tape will be applied.
A useful specification begins with the complete application—not a model number alone. Use this guide to prepare the information needed to compare Lead Top's standard range.
These steps explain general selection logic. They do not assign a specific Lead Top model to an application without the required operating information.
Describe what the tape must bond, join, seal or hold, including the substrate and how the tape will be applied.
Foil thickness identifies the aluminum backing gauge. Compare it separately from the complete tape thickness.
Nominal total thickness combines the foil and adhesive layers and excludes the release liner on Lead Top product pages.
Lead Top supplies water-based and solvent-based acrylic systems. Selection depends on the bonding surface and operating requirement.
Provide both application and service temperatures. A temperature range should be confirmed only after the adhesive and full construction are selected.
Identify the substrate, surface finish, cleanliness and whether the surface is flat, curved, smooth or textured.
Widths, roll lengths, cores and packaging are prepared to the confirmed purchasing and production format.
Smooth foil tape, scrim reinforcement and fiberglass cloth structures serve different construction requirements. Compare the backing before selecting a model.
The table shows confirmed construction data only. It does not imply that one model is automatically suitable for a particular application.
